Preceptorship in NHS Yorkshire and the Humber
NHS Yorkshire and the Humber has developed a preceptorship framework for service providers to meet the requirements of the Department of Health's Preceptorship for Newly Qualified Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals (2010). This framework builds on midwifery preceptorship work carried out in the region between July 2008 and July 2010. It conforms to the Department of Health requirements, thereby providing a framework for all professions and service providers.
Information about the course and dates for 2012 can be downloaded below.

Preceptorship Framework
Preceptorship in NHS Yorkshire and the Humber September 2010 (494.4KB)
The framework includes a Preceptorship in Practice (PiP) course which can be run in individual Trusts or through individual attendance on prearranged days. It is administered by Simulated Patients UK and requires two full days of workshop attendance. To access the course please contact iain.wilkinson@yorksandhumber.nhs.uk
The suggestion in the recommended preceptorship framework is that any professional practitioner committed to the provision of excellent support within teams can undertake the PiP course and that this may assist in inspiring practitioners to go on to undertake a mentorship programme.
