Communicating with all stakeholders
It is important that the findings and outcomes at all levels from the project be communicated with the relevant stakeholders. The project plan should include a stakeholder analysis (Step 1) and a schedule (Step 9). Within the schedule, a good project plan will include reporting to different stakeholders at different times during the life of the project.
As the SHA lead you should expect ongoing communication from the project as their level 1,2,3,4 and 5 data are collected and analysed. You should also expect the project team to be communicating with all their stakeholders.
Depending on the length and scale of the project, as the SHA project lead you may require the project to report to you at set times. These should all be agreed in advance of project funding contracts being agreed.
Good reporting
Good reporting should provide you as the SHA project lead and other project stakeholders with information that is relevant , that enables appropriate decisions to be taken, that is timely and transparent, and is communicated in a way that can be understood and is useful.
The ROI methodology recommends that great care is taken in reporting to avoid any overstatement of outcomes, avoid any misinterpretation of results and is modest in any claims being made for outcomes achieved as a result of the project. The ROI methodology also recommends that simple summaries are provided together with more detailed reports that enable the report recipient to dig deeper as required and to include appendices with full detailed disclosures and copies of instruments used, detailed results, process of analysis etc.
