NHS Yorkshire and the Humber

Return to practice (RTP) is the term used when nurses, midwives, health visitors and allied health professionals return to working in the NHS.

NHS Yorkshire and the Humber offers flexible training opportunities to enable healthcare professionals to return to practice.

Support costs provided for all returner programmes include:

  • course fees
  • criminal records bureau (CRB) checks
  • occupational health clearance fees

Please note:

There are currently no individual bursary payments in place for nursing or allied health professionals return to practice programmes.

RTP for Health Visitors

Health visitors wanting to return to practice have different needs in meeting the NMC requirements and many have been able to return without undertaking the full formal programme. It is therefore suggested that, in the first instance, you discuss your personal circumstances with your chosen university. If you do require the full health visitor return to practice programme you should apply to Sheffield Hallam University.

If you would like to talk through the options open to you please call Clare Pettit-Gardner on 0113 2959431or email healthvisiting@yorksandhumber.nhs.uk
