The Learning and Development Agreement (LDA) document lists all education, training and learning activity commissioned by NHS Yorkshire and the Humber from the Multi-professional Education and Training Levy funding (MPET).
The LDA establishes a tighter framework for the delivery of practice learning and teaching, to support workforce development. It is legally binding with Foundation Trusts (the Department of Health policy driver for this activity can be found in the document Gateway Reference 3804 - Learning and Development Agreement for activity commissioned by SHAs for training in a practice environment.)
By May 2009 all Yorkshire and the Humber NHS organisations had signed up to the Learning and Development Agreement.
The LDA includes:
- practice placement training for medical and dental students
- practice placements for non-medical professional and vocational students
- post graduate training for doctors
- learning beyond registration
- learning before registration
- infrastructure related to education and training
- other support for training activities
