The Clinical Skills Network Executive Group take information from the Network's Annual Conference and current reports to formulate a stratgic direction for Clinical Skills provision in the region. The group focusses on specific areas for improvement and bid submissions are then invited within these remits.

A scoping exercise, commissioned by the executive group, around Surgical Skills provision region-wide was a key work stream during 2009/2010. A Surgical Skills Strategy has now been formulated and funding allocated to Trusts to take this forward.
A Quality Framework has also been developed to assist Clinical Skills and Simulation providers with Quality Assurance. For information regarding this document, please contact a member of the Clinical Skills Project Team.
In order to maximise return on investment the regional Clinical Skills ProjectTeam (CSPT) were employed to ensure a collaborative, quality assured, sustainable approach that has led to reduction in clinical risks and improvements in patient safety. The project team have now been operational for 12 months and have made an impact as outlined in the SHA Clinical Skills Progress Report (Sept 2011) .
