The current and future health and wellbeing of children and young people is a key focus for the public health team. We work closely with colleagues from across local and central government, the Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber (GOYH) and the NHS who have a role in delivering the priorities for child health and wellbeing.
We attend a regional child health board and support the regional mechanism to improve child health and wellbeing, led by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) in GOYH, by sharing information and monitoring regional activities on child health issues such as infant feeding and childhood obesity.
