NHS Yorkshire and the Humber

The integrated governance team at the SHA are dedicated to improving patient safety, quality and governance in healthcare commissioned by NHS organisations in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Their key tasks include:

  • improving risk management and supporting NHS organisations to develop a proactive approach to safety and to improving standards
  • setting the framework for the management of serious untoward incidents and ensuring that learning is acted on to minimise the risk of recurrence
  • commissioning, management and reporting of independent investigations
  • identifying, disseminating and implementing best practice in governance
     

The team works in partnership with the National Patient Safety Agency, the Healthcare Commission and our three patient safety networks, along with others.
